Principal Clinical Teaching Fellow in Medical Education
Warwick Medical School is established, modern and forward thinking. As the UK’s largest graduate entry MBChB programme, the school is committed to delivering high-quality assessments that follow best practice in medical education.
Applications are welcomed from clinicians with an interest in medical education to innovate, further develop and support the delivery of a robust assessment strategy for the MBChB programme. As the OSCE lead, you will be responsible for providing assessment expertise and input to ensuring that clinical exams within the programme are developed and delivered in accordance with relevant regulations, while noting the planned changes from the GMC with relation to the national licensing assessment.
Your expertise in a clinical field, understanding of educational theory and application of assessment will be critical to this role. You will work closely with the Academic Lead for Assessment and with academics and clinicians responsible for the curriculum to ensure the clinical assessments are aligned with learning outcomes, to develop question banks and support the quality assurance process.
You may also contribute to the Masters in Medical Education programme and to staff development relating to assessment, subject to expertise. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with and engage in pedagogic research projects within the School.
Being a clinical role, you will be expected to have an MBChB or equivalent qualification and will need to demonstrate the personal skills and abilities in assessment necessary for the duties of the post.
The role will be appointed at 0.3 FTE but there will need to be flexibility in your planning to ensure you are available for key meetings and exam days.
