Consultant Psychiatrist –
Consultant Psychiatrist in Early Intervention in Psychosis
South London and Maudsley is committed to providing high quality integrated health and social care for local people with mental health problems in South East London, and specialist mental health serves for people throughout the UK. This is a rare opportunity to be part of our early intervention in psychosis pathway, which provides intensive support through a range of interventions including pharmacological and psychological therapies and also vocational, peer, and family support to young people who are experiencing a first episode of psychosis and for the three years thereafter.
This part time substantive post will work across our Lambeth EI service for 18-65 year olds ('LEO'), and our Lambeth and Southwark 'OASIS' team, which provides very early intervention for 14-35 year olds with at risk mental states, where there is a risk of psychosis. We are looking for a dynamic individual who is an excellent clinician in acute general adult psychiatry, an enthusiastic teacher, someone who is passionate about improving services, and a strong leader. This is a new community consultant post formed from sessions from various consultants who have other roles in research or education. These other consultants remain in post and both teams have multiple consultants with ‘portfolio’ careers.
The interview process will include an assessment centre on the 4th June 2019 and an AAC panel on the 13th June 2019 - please keep both dates available as alternatives will not be offered.
