An exciting vacancy has arisen for a permanent consultant working in the Health Intelligence Division of Public Health Wales, within the newly established Knowledge Directorate. This comes at a vital time as Public Health Wales has committed to build on the excellent work of the valued and expert intelligence functions of the organisation to ensure they are enviable world-class services fit for the future.
This post is ideal for a specialist in Public Health driven to see improvements in health and inequalities informed by excellence in the applied use of data and evidence. The successful candidate will have skills in epidemiology and be an experienced team lead. They will have leadership responsibility for the Congenital Anomaly Register and Information Service and the Child Measurement Programme. As one of a team of consultants, they will have a key role in the development of national initiatives as well as supporting intelligence delivery for local action. They will contribute at senior managerial level to the leadership and further development of the division.
The post holder must be a qualified Consultant in Public Health and be in good standing with the Faculty of Public Health. The salary scale is medical consultant scale (point commensurate with previous experience) or Agenda for Change Band 9 for non-medical staff. The post holder will be based in South Wales.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post.
