Southern health NHS foundation trust is seeking to recruit an SAS doctor for Bluebird House adolescent medium secure unit on the outskirts of Southampton.
This is a national service, part of the national network of adolescent medium secure services, and is an acknowledged leader in its field, with a national catchment area. The service specialises in providing care and treatment to young people with complex mental disorders and forensic risks. The service has a proven track record of delivering excellent outcomes in providing a range of innovative treatments and interventions.
This is a replacement post. The SAS doctor will be supervised by a consultant psychiatrist, and will be responsible for the day-to-day psychiatric and medical care of the inpatients in the unit, and will participate in carrying out assessments for admission to the service. There are multiple opportunities for further development, including support for career progression through CESR, and participation in the well-established Trust SAS Doctors’ development programme.
Bluebird House has a well-resourced medical and multi-disciplinary team, and will work alongside another full-time SAS doctor.
