As a progressive NHS Trust we are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, dynamic Consultant Paediatrician to complement and work as part of our integrated Community Paediatric Medical team. The appointee will be responsible for leading the department in developing, providing and monitoring services for children being assessed for autism spectrum conditions, and providing general paediatric clinics in a community clinic setting. The post will also involve teaching undergraduate medical students; undertaking statutory medical assessments for children who are looked after by the local authority; locality clinics for children referred because of developmental or educational concerns; and a contribution to the acute child protection rota for physical and sexual abuse
The post is part time, working a minimum of 7 PAs per week. You will be joining us at an important time in our development, as we are committed to the delivery of the transformation programme which sets out the vision for integrated services with key partners across a number of partner organisations including multi-disciplinary meetings with our GPs and acute Paediatrics in Southampton city cluster hubs. This exciting role requires an individual with strong clinical leadership, LAC, General Paediatrics, Neurodevelopmental and child protection expertise and a passion for working with children and families. Increasingly as part of the wider systems agenda we are looking to integrate our services with local authorities and wider health partners.
This is a real opportunity for individuals that want to make a difference both within the Children and Families service line and across the wider system.
