Provisional Fellow positions in Intensive Care Medicine
Westmead hospital is a major referral hospital in western Sydney, and a leading centre in research and training. Intensive care unit at Westmead hospital is a 37 bed level 3 unit including general and cardiothoracic ICUs, with a plan to expand to 47 beds this year.
The ICU provides services to a mixed cohort of highly acute medical and surgical presentation including major trauma, neurosurgery, haematology and bone marrow transplant, upper GI surgery, cardiac, and major vascular surgeries, and a variety of medical patients.
Provisional fellows are senior trainees who function under the supervision of an intensive care consultant, and supervise other junior members of the ICU team including registrars, and residents. They need to have the knowledge and skills to be able to independently assess and initiate supportive care in highly complex scenarios with direct or indirect supervision from the consultants, lead a team, and contribute to the teaching and training of junior medical officers.
Applications are welcome from suitably qualified medical practitioners with
adequate seniority in a critical care training program, with work and training
experience in ICU and anaesthesia.
Salary will be according to NSW health JMO award, registrar level, based on
