If appointed, you will be joining a team of nine Clinical Oncologists and a Medical Oncologist, and plans are in place to expand our Consultant Medical Oncologist workforce to reflect the rising demand for systemic therapies.
The department is very well supported by a Clinical Nurse Specialist team who already lead Nurse-led review Clinics for oral therapies. We deliver systemic treatments in Reading, Bracknell and Newbury. At the Royal Berkshire Hospital, we provide a 7-day Acute Oncology Service which is Nurse-led with daily sessional activity contributions from our team of Consultant Oncologists. We have a proactive clinical trials team and the department participates in both undergraduate and postgraduate training of Medics and Physicians Associates.
New colleagues can look forward to a friendly environment and a future full of opportunities at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust (RBFT). You will be working alongside high calibre staff, focusing on providing the best services to our patients. The CQC recently rated the care we provide as outstanding.

We provide specialist Oncology services at RBFT (Royal Berkshire Hospital, Bracknell Health Space, Townlands Hospital in Henley, and Newbury Hospital) and to Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust (Wexham Park, Heatherwood and King Edward VII Hospitals).
We are proud of our innovative approach to improving patient care and experience and we regularly receive national recognition for the quality of the care we provide.
