Work Where You'd love to Live.

Do you want to work where you would love to live and be a part of a
brand new exciting development to improve the health of the population
we serve? We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Consultant
Urologist with an interest in Andrology/Female Urology, although other
areas of interest may be considered.

The Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board is committed to delivering a
patient centred, high quality Urology service aligned to the intentions of
the National Urology Implementation Plan, produced by the Planned Care
Programme. This provides an opportunity for candidates to contribute
to the future service delivery considering new models of care, utilisation
of day case and diagnostic units as well as the intent to deliver robotic
surgery.

The North Wales Urology Department provides services to a population
of approximately 700,000 residents. The Health Board employs approximately 16,000 staff and has a budget of £1.4 billion.

As part of the Urology team you will engage with staff across all 3 acute
Hospital sites. Each site has a clinical lead with an overarching strategic
clinical lead for the whole of the North Wales Urology Service, thus
encouraging clinically led initiatives to continuously improve the care
delivered. The successful candidate will be appointed to a specific base
although will be expected to work collaboratively across the Health Care
System to support the clinical needs of patients.

The Health Board has close links with Bangor and Glyndwr University and
trains medical students from South Wales and England. We also support
training of Physicians Associates, Nurse Practitioners and other extended
roles.

BCUHB is the largest health organisation in Wales and, as a fully
integrated organisation, provides a full range of primary, community,
mental health, acute and elective hospital services across six counties of
North Wales (Anglesey, Gwynedd,Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire and
Wrexham), as well as some services to parts of mid Wales. We serve a
bi-lingual population and are committed to improving their health and
well-being through everything we do.

North Wales is acclaimed to be one of the top spots in the UK to live in.
The area offers a wide variety of outdoor activities, attractions and some
of the finest food to sample. We are surrounded by stunning scenery to
explore, from the rolling hills and valleys to the rugged mountains and
long sandy beaches. Chester is less than an hour away and the cities of
Liverpool and Manchester are just over an hour, making this location a
perfect place to live. With affordable quality housing, excellent private
and state schools and great local amenities, why not work where you’d
love to live....

Applications are invited for this Substantive Consultant full time, 10
session post to join a well-established Urology team, as outlined above.
The post offers an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated
person to work in a busy department to help further develop modern
urological services and to deliver an increasing workload. It is envisaged
that the appointee will contribute both to core urology and to take an
active role in extending the current service provision in andrology, female
urology and urethra-genital reconstructive surgery as well as functional
urology to cover the increasing demand for this service across the whole
of North Wales.

The successful applicant is expected to become involved in the
development of a strong regional uro-gynaecological network. Along with
Mr Seipp, the successful candidate will provide subspecialty services for
patients from all three hospital sites (Wrexham, Glan Clwyd & Bangor). If
