Consultant in Community Paediatrics
Applications are invited for the part-time post of Consultant in Community Paediatrics, working 8 sessions per week across Cardiff and Vale UHB.
The appointee will be required to provide a service to a locality of children requiring assessment for complex needs including cerebral palsy, neuro-developmental difficulties including ASD, ADHD and global developmental delay and learning difficulties i.e. core community child health services in addition to Educational Medicine (support needs for statutory medical advice for statements of Special Educational Needs), and children with variation in development (e.g. late walkers requiring assessment for possible Duchenne Muscular dystrophy).
There is a commitment to a 2nd on-call safeguarding service and forensic sexual abuse service for children locally and regionally. Undergraduate teaching sessions are also available within the Academic Department of Child Health.
The Community Child Health team is a health-based multidisciplinary team that works with children living in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. The team delivers both universal and targeted services which address the needs of a range of children.
Leadership opportunities are available and will be developed according to the strengths and skills of the successful candidate and in response to the wider community child health team’s development needs.
Applicants should either be on the Specialist Register or be a Specialist Registrar within six months of their expected date of receipt of a CCT / CESR(CP) at the time of interview.
