An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Rheumatologist based at Whipps Cross University Hospital Site. We are looking to recruit a replacement for Rheumatology Consultant with GIM (8 PA rheum and 2 PA medicine)
This is an exciting opportunity for the successful applicant to support and develop the high quality rheumatology service and be responsible for providing general in-patient and outpatient adult rheumatology care.
The acute medicine component would involve a 1 in 10 cover of acute medicine and the medical on call rota (currently 1 in 27 weekdays and 1 in 20 weekends).
Rheumatology sits within the ECAM (Emergency Care and Acute Medicine) directorate. Barts Health Rheumatology Service has been established for over 50 years and during that time has become recognised as a leading national and international rheumatology centre of excellence. Many members of the teams are leading UK experts in their fields and all provide high quality specialist care.
We work closely with academics and conduct world class research participating in laboratory research through to the final testing phases of clinical trials that directly benefit patients.

The Department catchment area covers East London. Essex and further afield and is the 2nd largest department in the UK. The department provides for a broad spectrum of specialist areas including: Ankylosing Spondylitis, early arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, chronic pain management, sports medicine, osteoporosis, complex spinal problems, connective tissue diseases, vasculitis, adolescent rheumatology and obstetric rheumatology.
