Applications are invited for a full-time, permanent position to take part in acute medical on call rota of 1 day every 7 weekends (on site 8am-8pm and on call overnight) and 1 night every 3 weeks. Part time applicants will be considered. The successful candidate will join a friendly, enthusiastic and forward-thinking team.
The department of Gastroenterology has 3 full-time consultants and one part-time consultant. Appointment to this post will increase the total consultant time to 4.6 WTE. Each consultant is supported by a medical secretary. There is a very good complement of six specialist gastroenterology nurses. They support both inpatient and outpatient services in a wide range of gastroenterology conditions including I.B.D, Hepatology, substance misuse, nutrition and upper GI conditions . We are currently working in collaboration with Daycase UK to develop a new day surgery centre which will include a new endoscopy department providing world-class care to our patients. Anticipated launch date of summer 2018.
You should be fully registered with the GMC and hold a licence to practise. Applicants must have entry on the GMC Specialist Register via CCT (proposed CCT date must be within six months of the interview date), CESR or European Community Rights.
