The Emergency departments are inspired to provide state of the art critical care within our resuscitation room and build up our very own hybrid ED-ICU. The post holder will be heavily involved in quality improvement projects surrounding the delivery of high quality critical care within the resuscitation room.
The candidate will also have the opportunity of leading on high fidelity simulation sessions across the 2 departments. This post is ideal for a potential future leader and clinician in the field of resuscitation or anyone keen to pursue a career within the field of emergency medicine or intensive care medicine.
Our intensive care units are busy 13 bedded general intensive care units, equipped with advance ultrasound equipment including TOE. We have FICE mentors, if candidate would like to complete their FICE accreditation.
Within the emergency departments, we currently have 2 ultrasound trainers, FICE mentors, MCEM examiner and ED intensivist with pre-hospital special interest. We are keen and able to deliver individualised education tailored to your needs.
This post will provide a 6 months emergency medicine & 6 months intensive care medicine rotation with a strong emphasis of the development of your critical care resuscitation skills. During the emergency department placement, resuscitationist fellow will have 2 PA per week non-clinical commitment to pursue their quality improvement project.
