An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Gynaecological consultant with a Specialist Interest in oncology. The post is based at Kings College Hospital: Denmark Hill Site and will be a 10PA contract. This is a substantive post; the remit of the post holder will be to work within the multi–disciplinary team providing and further developing care for women.
The post is specifically designed to provide support and care for women with possible and proven gynaecological cancers. This will include the care of women on gynae-oncology treatment pathways, undertaking diagnostic assessments for women referred on the 2-week wait pathway and attending the MDT at the cancer centre. Weekly colposcopy / hysteroscopy sessions are an essential part of the role. The post will also have a focus on the diagnostic phase of the cancer pathway to enable delivery of cancer waiting times.
In addition, the individual will be required to play an active role in the general workload of the department and will help in the development of new services, including ambulatory gynaecology and early pregnancy and gynaecology ultrasound.
The successful appointee will be expected to participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and clinical audit. They will be required to undertake management duties and work in a multidisciplinary team.
Applicants must already be on the GMC specialist register, have evidence of skills in management of early gynaecological cancers and be proficient in Gynaecological minimally invasive surgery.
