Clinical Teaching Fellow x 5

These five posts sit within the Institute of Health Sciences Education (IHSE), Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry (SMD). The SMD is a leading medical and dental school that offers international levels of excellence in research and teaching as well as providing clinical services for a population of unrivalled ethnic diversity in east London and the wider Thames Gateway. Applications are invited for 3 x Anatomy and Clinical Skills Fellows, 1 x Physiology and Clinical Skills Fellow, and 1 x Clinical Skills and Anatomy Fellow. These are career development posts at FY2/ST level to help teach the next generation of doctors. Three of these posts major in anatomy teaching, one in physiology teaching, and one in clinical skills teaching, all with a commitment to teaching across the disciplines. You will receive training in teaching from a team of enthusiastic clinicians and educators and as part of the post you will work towards a nationally recognized certificate in teaching and learning. 

For all 5 posts, alongside teaching, you will also be given the opportunity to develop your own clinical skills with supervised clinical work and training within Barts Health NHS Trust and you will receive support when applying for clinical posts in a year’s time.

These posts are full time career development posts and fixed term for one year from August 2019. Starting salary will be in the range (depending on experience) of £32,569 – £39,354 per annum, plus London Allowance.  Benefits include 30 days’ annual leave, pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006. Where required this may include entry clearance or continued leave to remain under the Points Based Immigration Scheme.
