Medical Director - GP Support Services
Londonwide LMCs is the membership organisation representing nearly 7,000 NHS General Practitioners and 1,200 practice teams in London, providing pan-London leadership and shared committee services for its members. The organisation has an important role as a trusted partner in supporting, stabilising and sustaining general practice in London.
We are recruiting a Medical Director to join our GP Support team, which covers GPs and their practice teams in all our LMC constituent areas in London.
The role is part-time, four days per week, and we have a flexible approach to accommodate different ways of working. The salary for the role is £113,964 (£142,455 WTE) plus membership of the group person pension scheme and an employer’s pension contribution of 16% of salary.
A full job description and person specification is available to download; however, in brief, you will be expected to manage a portfolio of casework, providing advice to GPs and their practices about a range of issues, including:
- Performance issues
- Investigations, performers list action, GMC referrals
- Appraisal and revalidation
- Partnership issues
- Disputes with commissioners
- GP contractual matters
- CQC problems
To be successful, you will be a fully qualified and experienced GP with a commitment to the sustainability of general practice and its values. It would be preferable if you have gained experience in a regulatory, legal, or medical indemnity environment. It is important to have a strong desire to support fellow GPs and their practices to achieve sustainability, and an understanding of NHS organisations would also be helpful.
