Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust (SWBH) and Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust (WHC) have worked collaboratively as part of the Black Country Alliance (BCA) initiative and established a rheumatology service in Walsall in October 2016.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the existing consultant rheumatology team and to create and deliver new models of care.
SWBH is now the provider for the Rheumatology service for Walsall, and already hosts the University of Birmingham Academic Department of Rheumatology. The SWBH Rheumatology Departmenthas a long established track record of excellence in research, teaching and training. SWBH is recognised nationally for delivering Specialised Rheumatology services including Behcet’s Disease, Systemic Vasculitis and Lupus and hosts a highly research active early arthritis service.
The advertised post will join the team of established consultants based within SWBHT (City and Sandwell Hospitals) and together with existing consultants will contribute to developing services already established in Walsall and SWBH.
The ability to work flexibly as part of a team is essential. All applicants must possess MRCP or equivalent and must be on the Specialist Register for Rheumatology or possess CCT in Rheumatology. A subspecialty interest in vasculitis would be an advantage but is not essential.
The post is advertised to start as soon as possible.
