1wte Consultant based at Brooklands, Marston Green, Birmingham / Community Services, Coventry
The post holder will share responsibility for the adolescent in-patient service at Brooklands Hospital with the existing consultant and be wholly responsible for the community service in North Warwickshire and Rugby.
The post will be based on an 10 PA job plan (7.5 PAs in Direct Clinical Care and 2.5 PAs in Supporting Professional Activities). Half of the clinical workload will be dedicated to the Inpatient Adolescent LD Unit at Brooklands and the rest to the Community Child LD service in North Warwickshire and Rugby. There is an out-of-hours on-call commitment (currently about 1 in 8) with adequate junior medical support.
CWPT is a teaching Trust with close links to Warwick Medical School. The post holder will be expected to take part in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. The post holder will also be expected to participate in the necessary supporting professionals activities such as audits in order to work towards successful Revalidation. The Trust is committed to the Continuing Professional Development of all doctors and appropriate study leave and funding will be granted.
The post holder will benefit from the support of an experienced peer group of CAMHS and LD CAMHS psychiatrists within the Trust.
We are looking for individuals who are experienced and work well in a multidisciplinary team. They must also be excellent communicators. Having the relevant experience in both CAMHS and Learning Disability, the applicant must also possess the appropriate qualifications (MRCPsych; CCT or equivalent in either Child Psychiatry or Learning disability Psychiatry). Those who are within 6 months of obtaining their CCT by the date of the interview may also apply. The post holder will need to be Section 12(2) approved or eligible for approval.
