We currently have a full time Consultant post (Pay Scale: £77,913 - £105,042) on offer within Community Paediatrics, to join the Community Paediatric and multidisciplinary teams in Community Children’s Services.
All Community Pediatricians are based at City of Coventry Health Centre along with Speech and Language therapy, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, School nursing, Health Visiting, Looked after Children’s health team, Dieticians, Community Children’s nursing, CAMHS and CAMHS LD services. This provides excellent opportunities for working as a team with families.
We believe high quality consultant appointments are key to providing quality services and ensuring senior clinical leadership. We are looking for enthusiastic, forward thinking individuals who can work within the Trust and with partners to develop children’s health services.
The post holder will contribute to the work of the Community Paediatric department through Community Paediatric outpatient clinics in the City Of Coventry Health Centre, in other localities across the city and in a special school.
The post holder will provide PAs to the rota for the assessment of alleged non-accidental injury. The post holder will liaise closely with the acute Paediatric unit and other child health services to provide a co-ordinated health service for children in Coventry.
The post holder will be invited to contribute to the West Midlands Paediatric Sexual Assault Service (WMPSAS) acute rota, which is currently organised as 24-hour non-resident on-call shifts (including weekends and bank holidays), as well as to the WMPSAS planned clinics. Training and supervision will be offered to support the post holder if required.
The post holder will work closely with the Community Nursing Teams and in particular the Special School nursing teams, in supporting all activities necessary to ensure that the Coventry And Warwickshire Partnership Trust meets its responsibilities in relation to child protection. The doctor will liaise closely with other health professionals, social care and the Education authority in order support Looked After children and young people
The post holder will share general medical responsibilities and participate in the training of junior medical staff and students
The post holder will join a well-established multidisciplinary team in providing a comprehensive community child health service in Coventry. The post holder will participate in the provision of both undergraduate training and postgraduate training. You will need leadership and team building skills as well as clinical experience and an enthusiasm for teaching/ training.
