Applications are invited from candidates with training in Forensic Psychotherapy and Psychiatry to apply for this 5 session post. The posts its in the Psychotherapy Department within West London Forensic Services (WLFS). Professional and operational line reports are to the Clinical Director, Dr Claire Dillon. This post has been created following the retirement of the previous post holder. The post is for 5 sessions, with the potential for the post holder to apply for other clinical posts within the service to complement the role to amount to 10 pa’s. Currently we have one such opportunity that is being advertised separately. The reason for a split post is to ensure that the post holder is embedded in clinical work within the service therefore being connected to the task of working with forensic patients as an RC. 

West London Forensic Services provide a comprehensive multidisciplinary assessment, treatment and rehabilitation service for adult male and female and adolescent male mentally disordered offenders, and those with challenging behaviour and specialist rehabilitation needs. Most of the forensic service is responsible for patients from North West London, covering the London Boroughs of Westminster, Kensington& Chelsea, Hammersmith & Fulham, Ealing, Brent, Harrow, Hillingdon and Hounslow. The service is part of the North London Partnership of new models of care (NMC) working with four partner trusts to provide oversight of the care of patients placed outside the catchment area. The NMC went live on 1st April 2018.The adolescent male and enhance dmedium secure women’s service are national services. 

The West London Forensic Services is a large service with a current establishment of 23 consultant psychiatrists and over 750 staff of all disciplines. There are approximately 245 beds in total. The service includes a mix of enhanced medium, medium secure, low secure and community services. 

It is essential that applicants have Higher Training in Forensic Psychiatry and Psychotherapy must be registered with a licence to practice with the GMC. Inclusion on the Specialist Register or within six months of interview is a requirement. All applicants should have Section 12Approval and Approved Clinician Status
