Lincoln County Hospital

This is a full time substantive appointment approved by Royal College of Surgeons as Consultant in Trauma & Orthopaedics with a special interest in Foot and Ankle surgery for the United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust. The appointee will be on the new consultant contract with a basic commitment of 10 PA s plus 1 PA with a 1:16 on-call at Lincoln.

The post holder will be required to work across all three main sites in the Trust Lincoln, Grantham and Boston. At the present, we are doing a trial of centralising all the inpatient operating at Grantham as a part of GIRFT and NHSI proposal. The base hospital for this post will be Lincoln County Hospital. The Day case operating will be at Louth hospital and Inpatients at Grantham hospital and complex inpatients elective at Lincoln.

The Trust is committed to the provision of a high quality, consultant led service. We will encourage the successful candidate to work with colleagues to develop the delivery of acute Trauma & Orthopaedics services further, especially the development of clinical pathways and streamlining services through A & E as well as elective surgery. We are looking for candidates on GMC specialist Register for Tr & Ortho or eligible within 6 months of interview. 

The appointee will be expected to work flexibly and be responsible for day to day patient care, ward rounds, theatre lists and clinic sessions.
