Applications are invited for Fixed Term Clinical Fellow posts to join the Medicine for the Elderly Teams across Tayside, starting August 2019.
Tayside has a diverse Geriatric model covering hospital services from Acute Frailty Team, at front door of Medical admissions, Acute Geriatrics, orthogeriatrics, and step-down MFE Units like Tay Ward in Perth, Royal Victoria in Dundee and our community hospitals throughout the region. We have a strong community presence and support Enhanced Community Support with regular MDT GP practise based MDT meetings, Polypharmacy initiatives and a newly developed Dundee enhanced community Support rapid Assessment (DECSA) model which is more aligned to hospital at home. The candidate has potential to work in any part of service that they may have interest in Medicine for the Elderly is Tayside’s largest employer of Clinical Fellows and Specialty Doctors, and our team have a reputation for providing opportunities and career development in this career grade. A Fixed Term Clinical Fellow post is an ideal opportunity for doctors unsure about entering training posts like Core Medical/GP training or about career pathway. Experience available is so diverse between community work, acute in-patients or more step down activity that it does provide opportunities to sample different forms of medical exposure. It is also the stepping stone to Specialty Doctor post for doctors without enough experience to apply for Specialty Doctor post.
