Consultant in Emergency Medicine
University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust has one of the busiest Emergency Departments in the country and is known for its high standards of care. An emergency service is provided to the local Staffordshire community, with a regional major trauma service covering the wider North West Midlands and North Wales. Approximately 160,000 new patients attend the department each year.
We pride ourselves on the delivery of exceptional care to our patients. A key driver behind this is our commitment to optimising consultant-led care during peak demand hours while utilising our Rapid Assessment and Triage Models to enable patients to receive the most appropriate care and treatment at the earliest possible time.
The Emergency Centre at Royal Stoke University Hospital offers modern facilities including state of the art diagnostics, an eight bedded resus room, co-located children’s emergency department and assessment unit.
We are looking for high quality, energetic, individuals with a passion for providing excellent patient care within the Emergency Department setting. Successful candidates will have wide experience in Emergency Medicine and those with duel accreditation in complimentary areas will also be considered.
Applications are welcome from established Consultants and those completing specialist training. The post holder will be expected to contribute to the Major Trauma Team Leader rota and fulfil shifts both at Royal Stoke University Hospital and County Hospital, Stafford.
