Clinical Development Fellow in Emergency Medicine
Applications are invited from trainees for the position of CDF within the Emergency Departments of University Hospital, Crosshouse and University Hospital, Ayr in NHS Ayrshire and Arran who have successfully completed the UK Foundation Programme.
This will afford you the opportunity to gain experience in Emergency Medicine prior to committing to a future Core or Specialty training programme.
In combination with the clinical component, each CDF will be assigned (under discussion) to an area of personal and professional developmental interest in Clinical Teaching & Education, Simulation & Skills training, Research and Quality Improvement, Leadership and Management or Medical Informatics. You will receive dedicated development time of 8 hours per week to undertake these activities. These activities will be supported through a mentorship programme and successful candidates will receive up to £1500 pa pro rata to support agreed development activities in their chosen area of interest.
You will work under supervision with local clinical teams to develop skills, and will also require you to provide a proportion of out of hours activity.
Commencing 7 August 19 for duration of 12 months (or 6 mths on discussion). A 50% pay supplement will be paid to recognise contribution to out of hours working and emergency duty commitments. The posts are not recognised for training. Applicants must hold Full GMC Registration with a current Licence to Practice.
