Substantive Consultant Psychiatrist
Gresham 1 ward, Bethlem Royal Hospital (10 PAs)
We are looking for a dynamic individual who is an excellent clinician in acute general adult psychiatry, an enthusiastic teacher, someone who is passionate about improving services, and a strong leader. Applicants who are within 3 months of CCT will also be considered.
South London and Maudsley is committed to providing high quality integrated health and social care for local people with mental health problems in South London, and specialist mental health serves for people throughout the UK.
This full time post will provide joint leadership and consultant psychiatrist input to Gresham 1 ward, a busy general adult ward for female patients who live in Croydon. The ward is based on the Bethlem Royal Hospital site. Gresham 1 is a well established ward and the role is being advertised due to the current post holder moving on.
There are also two male acute wards, one other female acute ward and one male PICU on the Bethlem Royal Hospital site. The ward works closely with the Croydon Home Treatment Team and various community mental health services for Croydon residents.
This is an exciting time to join SLAM, as our trust has recently undergone
reconfiguration to borough based operational management of general adult mental health services. Each Operations Directorate has a standardised management team structure across all the teams. Each structure is led by a service director and a clinical director supported by a senior management team.
We would highly recommend a site visit. To arrange this and for more information, please contact:
