A unique and exciting opportunity to be involved in the design of a new countywide fully integrated pathway for Stroke.
We believe our patients deserve the best possible care. With this in mind we are working with our commissioning CCG’s and partner organisations to develop a fully integrated stroke pathway for Worcestershire. Our vision includes the development of 7 day services with same day brain and carotid imaging, TIA clinics and links to regional stroke thrombectomy services. In line with national stroke lead guidance we are exploring plans within the STP for a cross-county service, based at WRH with a specialist front door and access to advanced diagnostics and treatment.
Our Acute Stroke services offer a 6-8 bed Hyper Acute Stroke Unit (HASU), attached 23 bed ward and a 30 bed community rehabilitation unit provided by our partner organisations. At present a partnership with Avon, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and Somerset Stroke Network provides out of hours thrombolysis, but we plan to move to a local 24/7 service with these new appointments.
You will join our experienced Stroke Team with funding for 6 consultants, 2 specialist registrars, 3 FY2’s and 2 FY1’s, 5 specialist Stroke Nurses, Specialist Therapists and Social Services, supported by an Audit co-coordinator, stroke manager and community based Consultant Therapist to ensure smooth progress through the pathway.
An attractive relocation package is available for successful candidates who are required to move to take up the post. This relocation offer would be available for both overseas and UK candidates.
