3-year Wellcome Trust Funded GW4 Clinical Academic Training PhD Programme (GW4-CAT) - Medical, Veterinary and Dental Graduates 

Start date: August 2020

Location: Universities of Bristol, Cardiff and Exeter

Salary: Clinical salary

Duration: 3 years full-time

Closing date:  12:00 GMT, 1st April 2019.

Applications are invited from exceptional medical, veterinary and dental graduates to undertake outstanding PhD training across the universities of Bristol, Cardiff and Exeter.  

This Wellcome Trust supported scheme provides the opportunity to join one of over 50 world-leading research groups in population health, cardiovascular science, neuroscience, mental health, infection, immunity & repair, cancer or molecular cell biology; access to a wide range of core and specialist training, plus exceptional individualised clinical mentoring.  

Funding

Funding will cover clinical salary, PhD fees and associated project consumables plus a training and travel budget.

Eligibility 

This opportunity is aimed at exceptionally motivated, clinically qualified trainees at an early stage of their career, but who can demonstrate the capability and drive to undertake research with a view to developing a long-term career as a clinical academic.  

Applicants must be fully-qualified medical doctors, vets or dentists and must have a qualification that allows you to practice clinically in the UK.
