Consultants in Neuroanaesthesia and Neurocritical Care
National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery
University College London Hospitals is seeking to appoint 2 consultants in the department of Neuroanaesthesia and Neurocritical care at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. The first post is in Neuroanaesthesia and the second post is between both neurocritical care and Neuroanaesthesia. These posts are required to meet the planned increase in clinical activity this year as well as ensuring a consultant led service at all times.
The National Hospital provides tertiary level care in a wide spectrum of neurological and neurosurgical disease with a regional, national and international referral base. The hospital is co-located with the Institute of Neurology in Queen Square, London WC1. Both institutions share the common aim of promoting research and teaching in neuroscience and its allied disciplines.
The department of Neuroanaesthesia and neurocritical care comprises 21 consultants and 22 trainees. These posts support all aspects of anaesthesia for neurosurgery and interventional neuroradiology as well as neurosurgical and Neuromedical critical care. The appointees will work flexibly to cover consultant leave within the department as required. All candidates must be eligible for full GMC registration and either already be on the Specialist Register or be within six months of receiving CCT in Anaesthesia at the time of interview. Essential qualifications for these posts include FRCA or equivalent.
