Do you want to be part of a major and novel, national initiative around Applied Health Research for Patient Benefit? We seek an academic leader to significantly enhance our vision and impact around the research theme of Healthcare Quality & Safety. You will be a proven and passionate research leader able to work collaboratively, committed to improving health outcomes in Bradford, Yorkshire and beyond.

Our ideal candidate will have a demonstrable international track record in the safe use of medicines and Patient Safety with an interest in one of more of our priorities: Human Factors, Health Professional Behaviour change, patient involvement in decision making or staff engagement and wellbeing in healthcare Quality and Safety. Your drive will be to ensure and improve care quality and the effectiveness of health interventions. You will have a clinical, health or social care background, (for example medicine, pharmacy) yet be a committed multi-disciplinarian.

This exciting position results from a partnership between Bradford Institute of Health Research, the University of Bradford and the University of Leeds, and Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.Recent successes have included the establishment of a Wolfson Centre for Applied Healthcare Research and a NIHR Patient Safety Translational Research Centre. As a senior academic, as well as contributing to the mission of the Wolfson Centre for Applied Healthcare Research, you will also be influential in growing and developing research capacity and capabilities at the University of Bradford to deliver nationally funded, applied health research for patient benefit.

We particularly welcome applicants from women and under-represented groups. The post may be considered for job-share. Clinically qualified applicants will have a time allowance provided so that the postholder can hold honorary clinical contract to maintain registration.The post can be provided as a fractional appointment to allow the postholder to maintain paid clinical practice or other paid roles.Salary is based on the Professorial scale (Grade 11/12) and is negotiable.
