Consultant Medical Oncologist

A New Cancer Centre is planned with the proposed building works beginning in Q2 of 2019 and an estimated completion date of 2021. Any possible changes as a result of this will be discussed at Interview.

Applications are welcome from candidates wishing to work full or part time in Medical Oncology. In the course of his/her work the job holder liaises with nursing, professional and technical, social work and administrative staff.
You will be expected to participate in Consultant Appraisal and Job Plan Reviews on an annual basis and the revalidating process when necessary.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day care of all patients under your care. The programme of training for each individual doctor will be flexible depending on his/her particular needs and stage of training. The successful candidate will be expected to work across the two hospital sites (Cumberland Infirmary Carlisle and the West Cumberland Hospital, Whitehaven).
The post will be based at The Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle or West Cumberland Hospital, Whitehaven but the post holder may be required to work at other sites within the Trust.
