We aspire to provide a proactive and responsive radiology service that has positive impact on patient care. We have ambitious plans, but with additional investment in the department secured by the executive team to realise this goal, and with the right team, we look forward to achieving this.
The Trust has a strong leadership programme and supports consultants with aspirations in management. If you are interested in developing your management skills you may be interested in applying for one of or newly created specialty lead roles.
You would join our large, dynamic team of 27 Consultant Radiologists working at Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals who are developing new ways of working (separating inpatient and outpatient flow) and working with clinicians in other specialties to further improve patient pathways and with outsourcing support to maintain our ambitious report turnaround times.
We will have rolled out home reporting by 1st April 2019 giving you the opportunity to home report as part of your DCC.
We have a Managed Equipment Service ensuring seamless replacement of old equipment with new, top of the range scanners. We have recently acquired a Fusion USS scanner through this contract, and 2 new CT scanners and 1 MRI scanner will be installed this year.
We have also recently acquired a new PACS (Merge PACS) and are working with developers to advance the use of Artificial Intelligence to enhance the radiology service and department flow.
