The Directorate of Women and Children’s Health is looking to appoint two Consultant Obstetricians. This is a busy tertiary level hospital that takes referrals from the surrounding area in both Fetal and Maternal Medicine.

We are a dynamic and forward-thinking team that is keen to recruit colleagues who will work flexibly and adapt to the changing needs of the service we provide. The successful applicants will be expected to contribute to both inpatient and outpatient services with multidisciplinary clinics.

The successful appointees will work within a team of 13 Obstetricians and 11 Gynaecologists and will contribute to the out of hour’s services in Obstetrics participating in a non-resident on-call rota. There are approximately 6,000 deliveries annually and we wish to increase the direct consultant labour ward cover in line with RCOG guidelines.

Post 1: Obstetrics with interest in Maternal Medicine with focus options in preterm labour, diabetes, lead for outpatient care/triage, lead for postnatal care or medical education. Post 2: Obstetrics with subspecialty accreditation in Feto-Maternal Medicine.

You will be fully registered with the GMC and ideally have a CCT in Obstetrics and Gynaecology or be within six months of award of CCT at the time of interview. Applications are welcomed from those unable to work full time for personal reasons or those wishing to job-share.
