Specialty Doctor in Emergency Medicine
The Trust seeks to appoint a replacement full-time Specialty Doctor (Middle Grade level) based in the Emergency Department within the integrated Emergency Care Centre to support the department in delivering high standards of patient care.
The post is designed to provide support for the Senior Consultant staff and to enhance the clinical supervision of junior doctors (FY2 and ST1-2’s) and to make a significant contribution to the service delivered to patients within the Emergency Department. The post holder will join our five current specialty doctors.
The successful applicant will have three years post registration experience, of which 12 months will have been spent in an Accident & Emergency Medicine setting at ST1/2 level or higher with a commitment to a career in Emergency Medicine.
The post holder will be expected to participate and achieve the targets of CME/CPD as laid down by the Royal College of Emergency Medicine and/or the Trust.
As an employee of the North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, you are expected to develop the IT skills necessary to support the tasks included in your post. You will, therefore, be required to undertake any necessary training to support this. This is to take account of the need for all staff to be able to use the information systems relevant to their post.
The post holder will be required to adhere to all trust policies and procedures including those relating to infection control and standards of dress.
The post holder will need five years minimum experience post graduation with a year in ED.
The Trust requires the successful candidate to have and maintain full registration with the General Medical and to fulfil the duties and responsibilities of a doctor as set down by the General Medical Council.
