Consultant in Paediatric Intensive Care
Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, Bristol
Applications are invited for a 10 PA Consultant Paediatric Intensivist to join the Critical Care team based at the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children (BRHC).
The Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is an 18 bedded unit providing full intensive care services to the Southwest of England and cardiac surgical services to the Southwest and South Wales. We are a recognised sub-speciality training centre for Paediatric Intensive Care Medicine and deliver a broad training programme to our trainees. BRHC is the regional specialist children’s hospital with the full range of paediatric medical and surgical specialties other than heart and liver transplantation on site. It is also a designated Major Trauma and Burns centre, admitting children acutely from across the network.
The appointee will join the Critical Care Team at an exciting time and will have the opportunity to work across all Critical Care areas; namely, PICU, the supra-regional paediatric intensive care transport service (WATCh), and the specialised surgical, medical, and cardiology High Dependency Units.
Applicants from a paediatric or anaesthetic background will be welcomed. They should have completed a minimum of two years training in Paediatric Intensive Care Medicine and must either be on the Specialist Register in their base speciality or be a Specialist Registrar within six months of their expected date of receipt of a CCT / CESR(CP) at the time of interview. There is the potential for anaesthetic applicants to have a mixed job plan.
