The North West Anglia Foundation Trust are currently welcoming applications for a Substantive Consultant Dermatologist (Royal College of Physicians approved post), to be based predominantly at Peterborough City Hospital.

Whilst this is a 10PA whole time post, applications from those wishing to work part time will also be considered.

This is a new post to increase the capacity of this active, friendly department within this busy trust serving a population of over 330,000.

The Dermatology service currently comprises 4 Consultants, 1 Speciality Doctor, 2 Dermatology Nurse Specialists, a Skin Cancer Nurse Specialist and a Dermatology Research Nurse.

There is full general nursing and admin support.

We have an allocated outpatient area with UVB, patch testing and surgical facilities. In-patients are admitted under a shared care arrangement with the medical teams. We have a teledermatology service for local GP’s, close links with plastic surgery and MDT links with Addenbrooke’s hospital, Cambridge. There is a small GPwSI led community service.

The successful candidate would be expected to take part in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and would be encouraged to develop a sub-speciality interest.

Peterborough is a well-served modern expanding city with excellent connections, a 50 minute rail service to London and is surrounded by an active rural countryside with attractive villages.

Applicants must be included on the Specialist Register for Dermatology or be within six months of achieving the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at the time of interview for the post and be registered with a licence to practice with the GMC.

Employees commencing employment who require a DBS Check, or existing staff transferring to roles which require a DBS or higher level DBS than currently held, will be charged for the cost of the check (currently £50 for an Enhanced Check and £31 for a Standard Check). This payment will be deducted from your first months’ salary.

Appointment to any position is conditional on the satisfactory completion of the core NHS Employment Checks Standards. Information disclosed in your application will be checked and any offer of appointment may be withdrawn if you knowingly withhold or provide false or misleading information. In submitting an application form, you authorise the Trust to confirm any previous NHS service details via the Inter Authority Transfer (IAT) process should you be appointed. This includes a check with the DBS Update Service where registered.

Tier 2 applicants working in healthcare will need to provide a criminal record certificate for them and any dependants from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the 10 years prior to their application.
