Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals NHS Trust (SaTH) is the main provider of acute hospital services for almost half a million people in Shropshire, Telford &Wrekin and Mid Wales. Employing 6,000 staff across two sites, Princess Royal Hospital (PRH) in Telford and the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital (RSH) in Shrewsbury, the Trust offers scale and complexity. The Trust is at a critical point in its improvement journey as it moves the implementation phases of its clinical strategy, Future Fit, which will deliver a £312m investment into SaTH’s health system to enable the strategic changes required to deliver high quality and sustainable services.
Key to this journey will be the leadership contribution from the Trust’s new Medical Director. Working in close cooperation with Executive Team colleagues, the Medical Director will lead the Trust’s committed and talented medical workforce providing vision, support, constructive advice and challenge to enable the organisation to transform and strengthen our ability to deliver high quality and patient-centric care. Working in partnership with Virginia Mason Institute, the Trust is establishing a new continuous improvement culture and supporting engagement and change across its clinical workforce.
