Consultant Paediatric Urologist – 2 posts
Applications are invited for the post of Consultant Paediatric Urologist in the Department of Paediatric Surgery and Urology at the Birmingham Children’s Hospital. One permanent post and one locum with a view to a substantive post in the future are required to replace 2 locum posts in a department of 5.5 Consultant Paediatric Urologists and 7 Paediatric Surgeons.
Post 1 (substantive): Candidates must have experience in advanced minimally invasive surgery, adult renal stone disease and endo-urology.
Post 2 (locum with view to substantive): candidates must have experience in advanced minimally invasive surgery and upper tract reconstruction.
All elements of paediatric and neonatal urology are provided by the department including general urology of childhood, congenital abnormalities, reconstruction, renal stone disease and renal transplantation. The successful candidate would be expected to participate fully in a 1 in 5 on-call rota and we also provide continued surgical review and support for patients transferred to the neonatal unit at Birmingham Women’s Hospital.
Applicants should be on, or eligible to be on, the GMC Specialist Register or be within three months of their expected date of receipt of a CCT at the time of interview.
