Consultant in Paediatric Prenatal Cardiology

An opportunity for a full time Paediatric Cardiologist with expertise in Prenatal Cardiology has arisen at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. This position will be the lead clinician (head of department) for prenatal cardiology.
There are currently 5 consultants with expertise in fetal cardiology taking part in clinics. This post is suitable for cardiologists with strong experience in fetal cardiac scanning, counselling, treating arrhythmias and managing families expecting children born with heart conditions. The post-holder will be expected to lead GOSH Fetal Cardiology outpatient clinics and Fetal Cardiology outreach clinics in conjunction with Fetal Medicine Units. There is a historic link with UCL Fetal Medicine department with some joint clinics there and around the network. The post-holder is expected to develop the service including teaching and research and to develop networks with referring obstetric ultrasound departments and fetal medicine units.
The successful candidate will be working in the Paediatric Cardiology Department and will have opportunities to join joint cardiac and surgical weekly meetings and a large variety of educational meetings. Candidates must be registered with the GMC at the time of application.
