Consultant Interventional Radiologist
Applications are invited for an additional Consultant Interventional Radiologists at Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust to join a friendly and dynamic team of 26 Radiologists across the County including 4 Interventional Radiologists. The post attracts 10 programmed activities and is based at Worcestershire Royal Hospital with sessions across the county (Kidderminster Treatment Centre or Alexandra Hospital Redditch).
Plans are in development for collaborative working with our STP partners the Wye Valley NHS Trust, Hereford County Hospital.
The post holder will be expected to participate in an interventional on-call rota of 1 in 6 frequency. Catchment area for out of hours referrals covers the neighbouring Worcestershire Acute and Wye Valley NHS Trusts.
A broad spectrum of interests exist amongst the current radiologists and we are able to accommodate a variety of subspecialist interests. There are six consultant vascular surgeons and a busy vascular and non-vascular IR workload. An interest in oncology intervention and tumour ablation to support the Worcestershire Oncology Centre would be particularly welcomed but not essential.
The Trust has teaching status with undergraduates from Universities of Birmingham, Warwick and Birmingham City.
Worcestershire is a largely rural County, with four main towns, Bromsgrove, Kidderminster, Redditch and Worcester, lying between the Cotswolds, Welsh Border and Birmingham. There are four further substantial market towns of Malvern, Pershore, Evesham and Droitwich.
Applicants should hold full GMC registration with a Licence to practise, be on the GMC Specialist Register in Radiology, or be within 6 months of obtaining their CCT at the time of interview.
