Clinical Professor and Honorary Consultant in Sport and Exercise Medicine

The appointment will be on UCL Grade Consultant Clinical Academic. The salary range will be £80,075 - £107,204 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
The UCL Division of Surgery and Interventional Science seeks to appoint a Clinical Professor, to lead the development of sport and exercise related research at UCL. You will be a clinician coming from a related subject discipline bringing a vision for research and a passion for patient care and teaching.
This Clinical Academic will have a strong record of national and international leadership and collaboration in sports related research or allied disciplines. The candidate will have an excellent track record of teaching, training and research and should be able to build on established work at UCL/UCLH, cementing our international reputation.
You will be working in close partnership with members of ISEH in the Research Department of Targeted Intervention at the Bloomsbury Campus of the Division and associated partners. You will have access to a world-class concentration of medical sciences and imaging as well as the facilities at the Institute of Sport, Exercise and Health (ISEH). The ISEH is one of 10 International Olympic Committee research centres for athlete health worldwide.
From a teaching perspective, you will contribute to the highly successful MScs and BScs in Sport, Exercise and Health, Orthopaedics and Performing Arts and other relevant teaching courses on offer at UCL.
The postholder must hold Higher academic degree e.g. MD or PhD, and evidence of an equivalent level of attainment in research publications along with full GMC registration and on GMC Specialist Register in Sport and Exercise Medicine or another relevant specialty allied to sport and exercise medicine including Rheumatology, Public Health or Orthopaedics. Experience of high quality academic research in the field of sport and or exercise, teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and other forms of public presentation and a track record of publications in high quality peer-reviewed scientific journals and conferences are all essential. He/she will have a proven ability and commitment to carry out high quality original research, leading to publication in peer-reviewed journals, strong leadership & organisational skills and possess the ability to supervise academic work by undergraduates, masters and doctorate students.
