Public Health England (PHE) is an executive agency of the Department of Health providing; strategic leadership, research, advice and support for Government, local authorities and the NHS in protecting and improving the nation’s health.

An opportunity for a part time (0.8WTE) CCDC/CHP post has become available to join the South East Health Centre health protection team based at our Ashford office in Kent. 

As part of the team based at the HPT and in collaboration as appropriate with relevant people in the Field Epidemiology Services, CRCE, Emergency Planning Managers and the Directors of Public Health in the South East, the post-holder will contribute to the provision of specialist advice and support locally to local authorities, hospitals, and primary care. S(he) will contribute to the investigation and management of a full range of health protection incidents (including outbreaks of diseases such as meningitis, and food poisoning), and will contribute to surveillance, co-ordination, support and monitoring of the local implementation of local, regional and key national programmes. The post-holder will also be responsible for dealing with chemical incidents and other health protection emergencies, in collaboration with other members of the health protection teams as appropriate.
