Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist for Women’s secure pathway Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust.
Applications are invited from ambitious and innovative individuals to apply for a position (1 WTE) working in the female secure inpatient service based in Norwich. This is an opportunity to join the service at a time of significant development. The unit has recently moved to offer a blended level of secure care for women who traditionally would have required low or medium security. There are opportunities to further develop a fully integrated pathway for women within Forensic Services in conjunction with established community services and third sector organisations. The successful applicant will join the team of 6 Consultants. The post is supported by a specialty grade doctor and is approved for both core and higher trainees. We are currently undertaking a service redesign aimed at ensuring that service users in all parts of the pathway are full partners in their individual care and the ongoing development of the services and that all aspects of the care pathway are efficiently delivered by expert multidisciplinary teams; this includes estates and clinical pathway redesign. You will be encouraged to develop your own areas of interest including research, teaching or medical management. There are established links with the University of East Anglia with the opportunity to teach at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
The post holder must be registered with the GMC, possess a licence to practise and have S12 (2) approval. The post holder must also have an entry on the GMC Specialist Register (CCT) in Forensic Psychiatry (or within three months of completion of CCT).
The unit forms part of the Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust Forensic services, which has 82 beds providing male and female medium and low secure beds.
*£20,000 recruitment premia and generous relocation allowance available to the right candidate (conditions apply)*
