The Yorkshire & Humber Centre is seeking to appoint a Deputy Director in Health and Wellbeing and Workforce Development which will provide an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of people living within Yorkshire &the Humber. 

The postholder will provide strategic oversight of PHE’s contribution to improving and protecting the public’s health and reducing health inequalities in Yorkshire and the Humber, working with partners to build and develop the local public health system through the provision of expert advice and insight and will be responsible for the delivery of the health and wellbeing and workforce function in the Centre. 

The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to public health principles and will be a strategic thinker with proven leadership skills. Proven experience as a Consultant in Health improvement is essential along with experience of leading the delivery of an externally facing service and experience of developing/implementing innovative practice or services. 

Candidates must be included on the GMC Specialist Register, GDC specialist list or UK Public Health Register and will be appointed to the Consultant salary scale appropriate to their years of seniority or if from a background other than medicine to NHS Agenda for Change Band 9.
