Due to the forthcoming retirement of our current Clinical Director of Breast Screening applications are invited for an enthusiastic, experienced Breast Radiologist to join our pro-active team at Kettering General Hospital. We adopt a strong team ethic and all disciplines work closely together in striving to provide the best quality service to our patients. The successful applicant will be supported by a dedicated clinical and managerial team including a NHSBSP Programme Manager, Advanced Practitioners and a Consultant Radiographer.

The purpose built integrated Breast Care unit provides both breast screening and symptomatic breast imaging services. The unit has a breast screening population in excess of 55,000 women and we consistently meet all of our NHSBSP key performance indicators.

We currently have 4 Onco-plastic Breast Surgeons and perform six 2 week wait symptomatic referral clinics per week.

The unit consists of 2 Static GE Essential mammography units. We routinely perform 10G and 7G vacuum assisted biopsies and 7G vacuum assisted excisions with a Bard Enspire vacuum biopsy system. In collaboration with the Advanced Practitioners the successful candidate will undertake approximately 6 wire localisation insertions per week.

We also perform Contrast Enhanced Spectral Mammography as part of the pre-operative planning diagnostic pathway. We routinely undertake Tomosynthesis for NHSBSP assessment women and we are planning to replace our current biopsy system next year with a tomo 3D biopsy system.

The unit has 2 ultrasound suites equipped with GE Logiq S8 T ultrasound scanners.

There is a Kubtec Mozart 3D specimen imaging system in breast theatres.

The Imaging service is supported by a GE PACS and is part of the EMRAD consortium.

The successful candidate must hold FRCR or equivalent and be fully registered with the GMC.
