Job Summary
Three clinical studentships are offered as part of the NHLI Foundation’s investment to establish a Centre for Early Airways Disease. Projects are offered in all aspects of airway disease – with particular focus on understanding the mechanism underlying development of asthma or COPD, across a variety of disciplines including bioengineering, cell biology, chemistry, epidemiology, genetics, immunology, molecular biology, pharmacology, physics, physiology and public health.
Duties and responsibilities
NHLI foundation fellows will be placed within a highly supportive environment and will be provided with a cutting edge research project under experienced supervision and mentorship. Before commencing the three-year PhD, successful candidates will be given the opportunity to meet and least two potential supervisors to identify a suitable research project.
Essential requirements
Applicants will be exceptional medical graduates who demonstrate a commitment to a research career and aspire to become the next generation of clinical academic leaders to join our prestigious PhD Fellowship programme. Applicants must be fully qualified medical doctors in training in the UK and at Core Training level in respiratory or other suitable area
