Consultant in Gastroenterology
Applications are invited for a full time consultant post in Gastroenterology. The successful candidate will join a team of 8 consultants at Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust.
The post holder will be based at Pinderfields Hospital, but will have commitments at another site, Dewsbury District Hospital or Pontefract General Infirmary.
The team at Mid Yorkshire is dynamic consisting of consultants, nurse practitioners and specialist nurses with varied specialist interests including, hepatology, IBD, biologics, nutrition, capsule endoscopy, functional bowel disorders and cancer screening.
There are established MDT meetings which support the department including close links with GI surgeons and interventional radiologists.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their own specialist interest, contributing to the range of services currently provided at Mid Yorkshire. An interest in hepatology, or bowel cancer screening would be particularly desirable.
The post holder will join the out of hours GI Bleed rota (currently 1:8 but increasing with this appointment).

Applicants should possess, or be within 6 months of receiving a CCT at the time of the advisory appointments committee.
The appointment will be on the basis of the new consultant contract laid down by the Hospital Medical and Dental Staff Terms and Conditions of Service and will be remunerated as appropriate on the salary scale £77,913 - £105,042 per annum.
