Applications are invited for enthusiastic and committed Consultant Physicians in Acute Medicine based at the Fairfield Site. There are opportunities to work full-time or part-time and be part of a highly motivated and supportive Consultant group. We are looking for an applicant who will bring a focus to high performance and quality of care. Pursuit of a specialist interest can be accommodated.
As an Acute Physician you will provide leadership to both the Acute Medical Admissions Unit and the Ambulatory Care Unit. The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust has recently undergone major transformation and reconfiguration. The Trust and Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust have joined together to create a new Group of hospitals (The Northern Care Alliance) to deliver a variety of local healthcare services. Four Care Organisations (Oldham, Bury/Rochdale, North Manchester and Salford) have been created to provide local leadership with the aim to build strong relationships with the local social care and health providers. The Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection in October/November 2017 found the Medical Service at Fairfield General Hospital has improved by two ratings to outstanding. This rates the medical services at Fairfield General Hospital to be one of the best in Greater Manchester and amongst the best in the country. As a site, Fairfield General Hospital is now rated as Good.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate extensive experience in Acute Medicine and must be within 6 months of CCT in Acute Medicine or General Medicine and a complimentary specialty, if undertaken.
