Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is a world-renowned cardiac, thoracic and transplant hospital with an excellent track record in developing and delivering specialist services.

In April 2019, the hospital moves into its new premises on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. The new state of the art facilities will ensure we continue to provide the best care for our patients.

Applications are invited to join one of the largest and best performing cardiothoracic surgical departments in the UK.

This is a new role for a full-time NHS Consultant Physician, with an interest in Hospital Medicine. The main aim will be to develop a robust service providing the general medical care of hospitalised patients with complex medical needs and frailty, and deliver optimal peri-procedure care to patients who are admitted to Royal Papworth Hospital for cardiothoracic surgical intervention. The ultimate aim is to improve quality of care and clinical outcomes, working closely with our large multidisciplinary team.

Applicants should have a commitment to teaching, research and continuous professional development. Outstanding opportunities exist for research and teaching.

Applicants must possess the MRCP or equivalent and be registered with the GMC, either on the Specialist (e.g. medicine, cardiology, intensive care) or GP register. Candidates within6 months of completion of training or recognised equivalent EU/EA qualification may be considered.
