Consultant Post in Cellular Pathology
Applications are invited for a Consultant Post (replacement) in the Department of Cellular and Anatomical Pathology based at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust. The successful candidate will join a team of 16 pathologists, providing a varied and interesting diagnostic service. This is a general histopathology post, but with great opportunities to support specialism in areas of interest including upper GI, Head & Neck, Lympho-reticular, Thoracic and Uropathology. The Cellular and Anatomical Pathology department is in close proximity to the theatre complex and there is a refurbished mortuary integral to the department. The workload is diverse commensurate with Hospital’s status as a Regional Cancer and Renal Transplant Centre, supporting all services except cervical cytology, paediatric pathology and bone pathology. University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust is the largest teaching hospital within the southwest peninsula and offers excellent onsite facilities including a modern library, sports and social club, teaching, meeting and video-conferencing facilities. It has strong links with Plymouth University and the Peninsula Schools of Medicine and Dentistry (PUPSMD).
The post is advertised as a full-time post with a standard 10 PA contract, with no on-call service commitment. Any candidate who is unable for personal reasons to work full-time will also be eligible to be considered for the post.
