Special interest in Emergency General Surgery (EGS) and Benign Upper GI/HPB surgery

An opportunity has arisen for a Consultant General Surgeon (10 PAs per week) to join the Tayside-wide Regional General Surgery Service.   You will be based primarily at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee with further sessions at Perth Royall Infirmary, Perth and Stracathro Hospital, Brechin and will join a dedicated team of general surgeons that provide secondary and tertiary care for all common Upper GI conditions and also contribute to the emergency general surgery service.

This post will have a major commitment to benign upper GI surgery and a complementary sub-specialist interest is welcomed.  You should demonstrate expertise in intermediate and advanced laparoscopic surgery as well as upper GI endoscopy. You will also be committed to developing and improving the benign biliary, ambulatory and emergency general surgery services.  

You must be on the GMC’s Specialist Register or be within 6 months of obtaining CCT or CESR(CP) at the time of interview.
