Consultant Paediatrician (Acute)
Consultant Community Paediatrician
Consultant Paediatrician with an interest in CCH
Specialty Doctor Community Child Health
Each post 10 PAs (applicants seeking a part time role may also be considered)
Applications are invited for the four substantive posts listed above. Two of these are replacement posts and two are new posts which are part of the development and redesign of children's services across Fife.
The successful candidates will join a close-knit team of paediatricians working across both acute (hospital-based) and community settings. Child health services in Fife are delivered across a number of community settings and in a 24 bedded in-patient ward located in the recently built wing of the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy. A separate children’s out-patient department and ambulatory care unit complete the services offered in the hospital. There are around 3000 medical paediatric admissions per annum. Additional out-patients services are offered at the Queen Margaret Hospital in Dunfermline.
The Acute Paediatric post and the Consultant with an interest in CCH would be expected to contribute to the consultant of the week and on call rota (currently 1 in 7.6) at the Victoria Hospital. A separate neonatal rota is in place. The Acute post would include the opportunity to develop a special interest to complement the needs of the department. General paediatrics at Victoria Hospital is a dynamic, well supported and highly regarded service supporting the local population of Fife. You will join an experienced and supportive team of consultants.
We are also seeking Consultant and Specialty Doctor colleagues with experience in all aspects of community paediatrics, as well as the vision and enthusiasm to join our forward-looking team. Specific areas of responsibility may be negotiated according to the interests of the applicant and needs of the department. The integration of services between the hospital and the community is recognised as an essential part of the service.
Applicants for the consultant posts must be on the GMC specialist register, or within 6 months of their expected date of CCT at time of interview. Non UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.
Further information or arrangements to visit can be arranged by contacting Dr John Morrice, Lead Clinician for Paediatrics on 01592 643355, Ext. 28828.

Interviews will take place on 26th February 2019
